Home Assistant (NixOS Native Core) Home Assistant is installed natively as a NixOS service (services.home-assistant). This means it runs directly on the host OS for maximum performance and resource efficiency, without the overhead of a Virtual Machine or Docker container. It handles all smart home automation, Zigbee devices, MQTT, and ESP32 devices.

Voice Interface (ESPHome Satellites) Distributed voice control using M5Stack Atom Echo devices. Cost-effective (~€15-20) and ultra-compact (24x24mm) wireless satellites that integrate natively with Home Assistant.

  • Visual Feedback: Built-in RGB LED for listening/processing states.
  • Custom Wake Word: Local detection of “OK Home Assistant” or “Jarvis”.
  • Discreet Placement: Hidden behind furniture or inside lamp bases to maintain room aesthetics while providing full coverage.
